Funds Launch

Product Development is multi-disciplinary, requiring a knowledge of product and investment strategy, end to end investment operations, regulatory awareness, effective stakeholder management and disciplined project management.

The Brief

A long-established client of ISC required a multi-disciplinary team to manage the delivery of credit funds from initial idea through to launch. Given our relationship and expertise in this area, the client had confidence ISC could deliver consultants with the right skills.

Project Scope

The investment strategy of the funds varied widely, each having unique legal and operational requirements. In addition, the ISC team were tasked to produce a product development framework for the delivery that could also be used for future fixed income product launches.

Our Role & Value

The team were required to work with multiple business teams (Compliance, Legal, Front Office, Operations, Business Change) to ensure tight deadlines were met, manage multiple external service providers, Fund Boards, and ensure that project progress was communicated to all stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.

Clients engage with ISC to get the right blend of skills to deliver change effectively.  In this case, ISC’s flexible engagement model and broad investment management expertise was used to augment the Client’s own resources to accelerate product delivery.

The Outcome

Funds were launched and a new framework adopted to move launches to a more consistent footing. This provided the client with not only new funds but a cost-effective way to launch future funds.

Consultant Reflections

“I’ve been working with ISC for just over five years, initially as an associate contractor, and more recently on a fixed term employment contract. I have always found the whole team to be approachable, friendly, and supportive. They are also incredibly efficient from an administration perspective. I would definitely recommend.”
